The Department of Sports and Exercise Psychology was established in 2019 under the Institute of Social Sciences and The Department offers 2-year formal postgraduate education. Program The language of instruction is Turkish.
The main aim of the Interdisciplinary (Multidisciplinary) Sports and Exercise Psychology Master's Program is to raise qualified graduated students from master's program for our country. For this reason, the students attend practicum courses of their education in order to transform their theoretical knowledge on teaching profession into skills and to develop their knowledge. 1. Applicants who apply to the program must have completed a four-year Bachelor's Degree of Psychology or Sports Sciences with an average of at least 2.75 over 4.00 (four).
2. Applicants are required to score at least 65 standard points from equal weight categories of the Academic Staff and Graduate Education Examination (Akademik Personel ve Lisansüstü Eğitimine Giriş Sınavı, ALES) organized by Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (Ölçme, Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi, ÖSYM). Alternatively, applicants are required to submit an equivalent score, determined by the Hacettepe University Senate, in the internationally recognized GRE and GMAT examinations.
3. Applicants are required to score at least 60 in the Foreign Knowledge in Foreign Language Placement Examination (Yabancı Dil Seviye Tespit Sınavı, YDS). Alternatively, applicants are required to submit an equivalent score from other foreign language examinations, held at the national or international level, whose equivalence is approved by ÖSYM.

5. The students who have Bachelor's Degree of Psychology or Sports Sciences are admitted to the take relevant course/s from Scientific Preparation Programme.
6. Those conditions, which are not included, are applied in accordance with the related provisions of the Hacettepe University Graduate Education, Instruction and Examination Regulations (Hacettepe Üniversitesi Lisansüst Eğitim, Öğretim ve Sınav Yönetmeliği).

Students who are accepted to register in the Sports and Exercise Psychology Master's Program complete their graduate education or get an equivalent education. Those who have completed an undergraduate degree or an equivalent foreign training and possess the requirements determined by the University Senate may apply as a candidate of Sports and Exercise Psychology Master's program.
Sports and Exercise Psychology Master's Program is a program which raises graduated from general psychology master's program who are sensible to humanity, society and moral values; respectful to themselves and around; qualified in their profession; in pursuit of life-long learning; supportive of scientific way of thinking; effective users of their mother tongue, skilled in fulfilling requirements of modern psychology methods; open to different thoughts and cultures, able to think creatively and critically.
Graduates of Sports and Exercise Psychology Master's Program can work as experts in state institutions such as Ministry of Youth and Sports, General Directorate of Sports, Sports Federations and sport clubs; as exercise leader; as researcher and manager; as a research assistant at universities

Sport and Exercise Psychology Master's Programme consists of 4 semesters. Of the 19 courses in the programme, 5 are compulsory and 14 are elective courses (6 of them are elective courses). In Sport and Exercise Psychology Master's Programme, there are 50% compulsory and 50% elective courses. Annual courses can be taken by the student in the autumn term as well as in the spring term. Semester courses can only be taken in the semester in which they are opened. Students from both fields of the programme participate in the scientific preparation programme for one year.
