D.1. General Information about Program

Back

Movement and Training Sciences Doctorate Program is carried out under the Department of Movement and Training Sciences, Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences. Movement and Training Sciences examine human movement in a multidisciplinary manner systematically and scientifically. In this framework Movement and Training Sciences investigates mechanical characteristics of human movement in different sport branches in terms of Movement Sciences, focuses on development of more economic and efficient technique, prevention of injuries through analysis and applications for performance improvement. In addition, it examines the role of nervous system in controlling movements that require coordination during motor skills. In terms of Training Sciences on the other hand, it focuses on subjects related with the analysis of components affecting performance in different sport branches with proper testing methods, the effect of different training methods on performance, investigation of training content and extend in terms of periodization principles, examination of performance and the effect of different training methods on special groups (children, women, sedentary groups, elite and non-elite athletes disabled etc). Master of Science student can specialize in movement and training sciences subject area.
