D.1. General Information about Program

The Department of Health Management was established in parallel with the development and change process of health management in the world. The department develops knowledge on the management of health services and organizations through education, training and research, and maintains its position as the first and pioneer in this field in Turkey. The aim of the program is to educate students who have the theoretical knowledge of health management at a level that will contribute to the sector, who can plan, conduct and conclude independent research in their field, and who can take part in multi-disciplinary studies. The language of instruction of the program is Turkish.

D.4. Provisions for Registration

1. Graduating from any Undergraduate Program and having an academic success average (GPA) of at least 2.50 out of 4 or equivalent

2. Having a minimum of 60 standard points in one of the numerical, verbal or equal weight score types of the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) or having an equivalent score of 60 points in the internationally accepted GRE and GMAT exams within the framework of equivalence determined by the H.Ü. Senate.

3. Having a minimum of 60 points in the Foreign Language Proficiency Level Determination Exam (YDS) or having an equivalent score of 60 from one of the nationally or internationally valid exams whose equivalence is accepted by ÖSYM.

4. International student applications are accepted in accordance with the Hacettepe University Postgraduate Education-Teaching and Examination Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated November 26, 2016 and numbered 29900.

5. Provisions not included above will be implemented in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Hacettepe University Postgraduate Education-Teaching and Examination Regulation.

6. Those who do not have a Health Management undergraduate degree are accepted to a one-term or one-year scientific preparation program in addition to the mandatory credit load depending on the type of program they graduated from.

Candidates who meet the application conditions above are accepted to the program entrance exam. Candidates who receive the minimum score determined by the department in the written and/or interview exam evaluation are considered successful. The ranking of successful candidates is made by the exam jury according to their general success score.

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

To graduate from the program, it is necessary to successfully complete at least 120 ECTS courses and pass the thesis defense exam.

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Successful students who have studied at least one semester in the graduate programs of the University or other higher education institutions may apply for horizontal transfer to another graduate program conducted at the University. In order for applications to be accepted; there must be quotas for master's, doctorate/art proficiency students in the relevant department/main art branch, the student must have met the student admission requirements of the graduate program to which he/she wishes to transfer and must have received the success grades specified in the third paragraph of Article 26 of this Regulation in each of the courses he/she has taken by studying at least one semester of graduate study. The acceptance and adaptation of students whose horizontal transfer is deemed appropriate by the department/main art branch board are finalized by the decision of the institute's board of directors.

D.7. Goals and Objectives

To provide contemporary and universal health management education, to train responsible, knowledgeable, enlightened health institutions management science experts who have reached a sufficient level in health management, are open to development in their field, can establish dialogue with the people they work with, can fulfill the requirements of independent and joint work when necessary, and who have adopted the principle of adhering to ethical rules.

Graduating students are employed as middle and senior managers responsible for administrative, financial and technical affairs in a wide range of service areas, in addition to general health management.

The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the ?Course Teaching Plan? prepared by the relevant faculty member/s and included in the Information package.

The relevant articles of the Hacettepe University Postgraduate Education, Teaching and Examination Regulation are applied regarding exams and course success grades.
