The department was established as the “Department of Education” in 1967-1968 academic year in Hacettepe University. Prof. Dr. Yahya Kemal KAYA, Prof. Dr. Mustafa AYDIN and Prof. Dr. Sudi BÃœLBÃœL are among the pioneers of our division. In 1982 with the establishment of Faculty of Education, Department of Education was turned into Department of Educational Sciences, and the divisions were determined. Our division has provided both graduate education and courses for teaching certificate since its establishment.
The aim of the Master Program on Educational Administration Supervision Planning and Economics is to train individuals specialized at master`s degree level on administration of educational organizations, supervision of educational organizations, educational planning and educational economics; to train academicians for related departments of the universities; to provide a scientific basis about this field that is theoretical and practical, to individuals to be assigned at administrative units subordinate to central and rural organizations of the Ministry of National Education; and improve professional qualifications of the teachers, administrators and supervisors.

Program includes 24 credit- courses, of which 6 are compulsory and 2 are elective. On the other hand, Program's ECTC credits are 120. Its' 60 credits are gained from the courses and the remain are gathered from a master thesis. Elective courses may be chosen from the program's itself, or from other master degree programs.

The students of our program may be exempt from some of our courses regarding certain arrangements. A student may be exempt from a course if the content of the course taken from a different institution is the same of the course given in Hacettepe University, and if the institute directorate confirms it.
The transfer students accepted from different universities' similar institutes may be exempt from the courses taken prior in that university if the corresponding committee confirms. The students graduated from different programs are accepted for our scientific preparatory program which may be two semesters at most, upon suggestion of the interview jury and the positive opinion of the chair of the division by the institute board's decision.

Our graduates, being experts of educational administration, supervision, economics or planning who have strong reservoir of research and theories in the field, may work in public or private institutions or go on their education attending a Ph.D program as well-respected academicians of the future.

Program includes 24 credit- courses, of which 6 are compulsory and 2 are elective. On the other hand, Program's ECTC credits are 120. Its' 60 credits are gained from the cources and the remain are gathered from a master thesis. The students must get a C1 (65-69 / 100.) at least for each course. The proportion of ECTS credits of the program are as follow; must courses 75%, elective courses 25%. To be able to complete the program, the students must pass and complete all the courses and prepare and defend a master`s thesis successfully. Elective courses may be choosen from the program itself and other programs (incuding other universities) providing the consent of supervisor and requirements of local / ECTS credits. Program comprises also some courses which requires prerequisite(s). These are listed in the chart below.
