D.1. General Information about Program

Back

The graduate program in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department was initiated in 1976. The doctoral program is currently offered under the Department of Electrical Electronics Engineering within the Hacettepe University Institute of Science and Technology. There are currently over 250 students receiving postgraduate education. Approximately 50 of these students are doctoral students.

Our students have the opportunity to continue their education by choosing the field they want to specialize in among many areas that Electrical Electronics Engineering is interested in, especially the fields of Signal Processing, Telecommunication, Electromagnetics and Microwave Techniques, Control Theory, Electrical Machines and Electrical Installations. During their doctoral education, students take courses related to their chosen field and work on their thesis under the supervision of a faculty member on the subject.

The medium of instruction is Turkish. However, applicants have to be successful in an English proficiency exam in order to be admitted to the program. The higher body responsible of all graduate education in Engineering in Hacettepe University is the Institute of Science. Hence, graduate student admission and graduate education are carried out in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Institute.
