While postgraduate education studies in the field of Old Turkic Language have been carried out under the Turkish Language Program since 1969, it is planned to be divided into two separate programs as Old Turkic Language and Modern Turkish Language from the 2022-23 academic year. The main goal of the Old Turkic Language Program is to train scientists who can do research on the old Turkic language. In line with this goal, historical Turkey Turkish modern linguistic approaches, morphology, syntax, semantics, etc. topics are included in the program.Â
The courses in the Old Turkic Language Master's Program enable students to access information, evaluate and interpret information in this field, and enable them to conduct scientific research. The purpose of the interdisciplinary perspective of the program is to provide students with the ability to analyze all kinds of language materials and to use research methods and techniques in the field of old Turkic language.
The language of the education program is Turkish, and students must be proficient in a foreign language to enable them to follow the relevant literature.

1. The applicants who apply to the master program must have at least four-year undergraduate programs listed below: Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Department of Modern Turkic Languages and Literatures, Department of Linguistics.
2. The applicants must have an ALES verbal score that meet the minimum score of 55, or in accordance with the equivalence defined by the Senate of Hacettepe University must have an internationally recognized GRE or GMAT score, which is equivalent to 55 in ALES.
3. To be at least 2.50 out of 4.00 in a licence academic average.
4. The applicants must have YDS scores that meet the minimum score of 50 or must have scores equivalent to 50 on the tests that are recognized on national and international levels, and the equivalence of which is approved by ÖSYM.
5. International students' applications are accepted in line within ?Hacettepe University Graduate Programme and Exam Regulation".
6. Those conditions, which are not included, are applied in accordance with the related provisions of the Hacettepe University Graduate Education, Instruction and Examination Regulations (Hacettepe Üniversitesi Lisansüstü Eğitim, Öğretim ve Sınav Yönetmeliği).
The student who completes the Old Turkic Language Master's program is entitled to receive the Old Turkic Language Master's degree. To successfully complete the program; It is required to complete a total of 120 ECTS, take/succeed in 24 credits of courses, and prepare a master's thesis that is deemed successful by the jury.Â

Graduates who meet the prerequisites for applying to the Old Turkic Language Master's Program and are successful in the program entrance exam can continue to the program. However, all students who have completed their undergraduate education in a field other than Turkish Language and Literature, and those who have completed their education in the field of Turkish Language and Literature, but who are determined by the interview jury to need to develop or support their academic background, are approved by the Hacettepe University Institute of Social Sciences, upon the recommendation of the interview jury and the approval of the department head. According to the relevant article of the Education-Training Regulation, the Scientific Preparation Program is applied.Â
Students who want to be included in the program with lateral transfer must have studied at least one semester at the university or in the graduate programs of other higher education institutions. In order for the applications to be accepted; There must be a quota for graduate, doctorate / proficiency in arts students in the department, the student must meet the registration admission requirements and receive the success grades specified in the Graduate Education Regulations of Hacettepe University Social Sciences Institute from each of the courses taken by completing at least one semester of graduate education.
The aim of the Old Turkic Language Master's program is to train graduates who can deal with pre-13th century Turkic texts with modern linguistic approaches, phonetics, morphology, syntax, and semantics.
The student who successfully completes the program gains the title of "science expert". Graduates engage in academic activities in the country and abroad. They can work as academicians and lecturers at universities. He works as a specialist in relevant government institutions.

The Old Turkic Master's program includes a mixed education process that combines coursework and thesis work. Within the scope of the program, all of the courses except the Seminar in Old Turkic Languages and Scientific Ethics and Researches Techniques are elective. Students who are eligible to enroll in the program must take at least 24 credits (120 ECTS) throughout their education and have an academic average of at least 2.5 out of 4.00 at the end of the semester.
The assessment and evaluation methods applied for each course, the criteria to be taken into account in the success evaluation of the courses (midterm exam, homework, final exam, etc.) defined in. Final exams are held on the dates announced by the University, at the specified place and time. The final grades of the students are given by the instructor in charge of the course according to the midterm and final exam grades, the studies they have carried out during the semester and the attendance rules.
Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations are applied regarding exams and course grades. Assessment and evaluation may vary for each course. For this reason, course information packages should be checked.
For graduation conditions from the master's program, H.U. Postgraduate Education and Examination Regulations are applied.Â
Students are required to take at least 24 credits (120 ECTS) courses, except for the non-credit compulsory Seminar course, and their overall academic achievement must be at least 2.5 out of 4. Students who successfully complete their courses must write an original master's thesis and defend this thesis before a jury that decides by majority vote.
