D.1. General Information about Program

Department of Psychology established in 1964 and a four-year mainstream graduate (doctoral) education. Masters Education consists of Clinical Psychology and General Psychology Masters Programs and the language of instruction is Turkish.

The main aim of the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program is to raise qualified graduated from doctoral program for our country. For this reason, the students attend practicum courses of their education in order to transform their theoretical knowledge on teaching profession into skills and to develop their knowledge.

D.4. Provisions for Registration

1. Applicants have completed a master's degree in clinical psychology or have received an equivalent education. 

2. Master degree GPA must be at least 3.20 over 4.00 (four).

2. Applicants are required to score at least 75 standard points from equal weight categories of the Academic Staff and Graduate Education Examination (Akademik Personel ve Lisansüstü Eğitimine Giriş Sınavı, ALES) organized by Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (Ölçme, Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi, ÖSYM). Alternatively, applicants are required to submit an equivalent score, determined by the Hacettepe University Senate, in the internationally recognized GRE and GMAT examinations.

3. Applicants are required to score at least 75 in the Foreign Knowledge in Foreign Language Placement Examination (Yabancı Dil Seviye Tespit Sınavı, YDS). Alternatively, applicants are required to submit an equivalent score from other foreign language examinations, held at the national or international level, whose equivalence is approved by ÖSYM.

4. International students' applications are accepted in line within ?Hacettepe University Graduate Programme and Exam Regulation" in Official Gazette (29 November 2016, No:29900).

5. Those conditions, which are not included, are applied in accordance with the related provisions of the Hacettepe University Graduate Education, Instruction and Examination Regulations (Hacettepe Üniversitesi Lisansüst Eğitim, Öğretim ve Sınav Yönetmeliği).

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who are accepted to register in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program are complete their graduate (masters) education or get an equivalent education. Those who have completed a graduate degree at Clinical Psychology or an equivalent foreign training and possess the requirements determined by the University Senate may apply as a candidate of Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program.

The Clinical Psychology Doctoral program is a program which raises graduated from Clinical Psychology Doctoral program who are sensible to humanity, society and moral values; respectful to themselves and around; qualified in their profession; in pursuit of life-long learning; supportive of scientific way of thinking; effective users of their mother tongue, skilled in fulfilling requirements of modern psychology methods ; open to different thoughts and cultures, able to think creatively and critically.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Graduates of Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program can work as psychologist at schools, kindergartens, hospitals, nursing homes, lockup houses, house of corrections, as specialists, instructors, research assistants at universities; as officials at public and private institutions and organizations and also work on task related to the clinical psychology field.

D.14. Profile of the Programme

Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program consists of 8 terms. Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program consists of 18 courses and 240 ECTS credits totally. 4 of 18 courses in the program are must courses and 14 elective courses. In the program must courses % 42 and elective courses % 58 are provided comprising of the curriculum. Students are free to choose year courses in fall or spring semester.
