D.1. General Information about Program

Department of Pediatric Dentistry was established by Prof. Dr. Engin Usmen, as the Department of Pedodontics - Orthodontics at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, School of Dentistry in 1965. In 1975, it was seperated from the Department of Orthodontics and renamed as the current title as  Department of Pediatric Dentistry . Our department's teaching staff consists of ten faculty members. There are three clinics, two laboratories, 1 RVG room, 1 meeting room at the department. Turkish is the language of instruction.

Being a graduate of Faculty of Dentistry.

Having ALES and Foreign Language base score determined by Institute of Health Sciences of Hacettepe University (ALES-Foreign Language Scores Table).

To comply with the application requirements of Institute of Health Sciences of Hacettepe University.

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Compulsory credits for National and ECTS are 36 and 240, respectively. For graduation from the program, one must be pass all courses and successfully defend his/her doctoral thesis.

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

The recognition of a student's education who have attended another university home or abroad, is determined by the relevant regulations.

1. To graduate specialists who have extensive knowledge in the field of Pediatric Dentistry.

2. To graduate specialists who knows the importance of life-long learning and can improve themselves in their profession.

3. To graduate specialists who can detect scientific research in clinical and basic sciences related to the field of Pediatric Dentistry, and can plan and conduct a research.

4. To graduate specialists who can show a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment planning of pediatric dental patients.

5. To graduate specialists who can convey information about oral and dental health of children to the dentists and other health professionals.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Program graduates can work as a pediatric dentist in public institutions, may practice their profession independently or pursue an academic career.
