D.1. General Information about Program

In 1968 master's degree was offered for the first time and in 1972 doctoral program in nursing was established. the Health Sciences Institute of Hacettepe University is a leader in nursing education in Turkey. Along with other Nursing departments in our institution, Fundamentals of Nursing Department has been established according to the 27th November 1990 Executive decision of Turkish Higher Council. In 2 October 1998, it offered graduate programs, including master and PhD in Nursing, under the Health Sciences Institute of Hacettepe University.

The Fundamentals of Nursing and Management Integrated Doctorate Program was presented to the opinion of the Higher Education Council with the decision of Hacettepe University Senate dated 29.03.2012 and numbered 2012-66 and with the decision of YÖK General Assembly dated 26.06.2012. It was opened. Fundamentals of Nursing and Management Integrated Doctorate Program is carried out by the faculty members and staff of the division of Fundamentals of Nusring and Nursing Management.

To have a "Bachelor of Nursing" diploma obtained from Formal Education Institutions with a grade point average of at least 3 out of 4 or an equivalent score

To have ALES (SAY / EA) score type and ALES and Foreign Language base score determined by the Health Sciences Institute Board and approved by the Hacettepe University Senate http://www.saglikbilimleri.hacettepe.edu.tr/en/menu/ales_foreign_language_scores-252

To meet the application requirements of Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations and Institute of Health Sciences.

Students must complete the 180 AKTS credits (42 national credits) compulsory and selective courses and 120 AKTS credits for PhD thesis study in order to graduate.  Students who successfully complete the program earn a Doctorate in Fundamentals of Nursing and Management.

Program Aims: The aim of doctoral program in Fundamentals of Nursing and Management is to enable students advance as experts in the field of fundamentals of nursing and management and its basic theories, concepts, principles and methods, and to synthesize new knowledge by conducting original research independently.

The Integrated Doctorate Program in Nursing Fundamentals and Management develops the ability to examine theories, concepts, principles and methods specific to nursing from an analytical perspective, to critically evaluate the problems in the field of practice in the light of the nursing historical development process, and to have a systematic perspective on nursing care. Our graduates continue their scientific studies by using their independent and original research skills they have gained in our doctoral program. Academic institutions, including the Ministry of Health and affiliated organizations, can perform service and training duties in public and private workplaces

Fundamentals of Nursing and Management integrated doctoral program includes five year (ten semester) education by the faculty of Fundamentals of NUrsing Department and Nursing management Department. Graduates who complete this program will be awarded with PhD in Fundamentals of Nursing and Management Integrated Program.
