D.1. General Information about Program

Hacettepe University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department started to carry out science expertise in 1968 and doctoral programs in 1972 within the scope of the Institute of Health Sciences Nursing Program. In 1998, the Institute of Health Sciences postgraduate program was divided into eight departments. One of them is the Public Health Nursing doctoral program.

The program language is Turkish. The program consists of 8 semesters (4 years) of theoretical and practical courses and thesis work. The maximum completion period is twelve semesters (6 years).

The number of quotas is determined according to the number of thesis advisors per faculty member included in the Principles on Opening and Implementing a Graduate Education Program.

The program does not have an internship application; field practice is carried out within the scope of the HHS730 Advanced Field Application course.

The student, who completes all courses of at least 21 national credits from the program (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS), the proficiency exam and the doctoral thesis, graduates from the program with a doctorate title in Public Health Nursing.

The program content consists of 62 ECTS compulsory and 58 ECTS elective courses, completing the 120 ECTS credit load, and a PhD thesis study with a 120 ECTS credit load.

Our graduates are in the fields of Public Health Nursing within the scope of the "REGULATION ON AMENDMENTS IN THE NURSING REGULATION" published in the Official Gazette No. 27910 in 2010; They are employed in the fields of service and education in academic institutions, public and private workplaces, including the Ministry of Health and affiliated organizations.

Having graduated from Public Health Nursing Master's Program.

To have ALES (SAY / EA) score type and ALES and Foreign Language base score determined by the Health Sciences Institute Board and approved by the Hacettepe University Senate http://www.saglikbilimleri.hacettepe.edu.tr/en/menu/ales_foreign_language_scores-252

To meet the application requirements of Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations and Institute of Health Sciences.

Those who have successfully completed all courses of at least 21 credits included in the program (240 ECTS in total), have successfully passed the PhD proficiency exam and have successfully made their thesis defense in front of the jury meet the requirements of competence necessary for graduation

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Nursing baccalaurate graduates who has completed nursing, public health nursing master programs and whose conditions are accepted by the Academic Board of Department in the condition of completing their missing courses ara accepted for the program.

Educate to universal qualities of scientists doctors at Public Health Nursing who have Public Health Nursing education and research, can develop Public Health Nursing programs, make research plans and perform them.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

A study was started in order to determine Public Health Nursing PhD degree graduates' opinions on the training. We reached two graduates in this study. They can communicate effectively, can have self- confidence, can reach the information easily, earn the ability to problem solving and analysis- synthesis, may decide rapidly, more prone to teamwork, can produce strategic solutions, have leadership qualities, have ethical behavior and they state that they are more sensible about general health problems. The rate of Doctoral programÂ Â Â of compulsoryÂ courses to elective courses isÂ %32.
