D.1. General Information about Program

Doctorate programme started to give education and training in 1967 in Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at the Institute of Health Sciences. In accordance with developments and advancements in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, it tooks place as a seperate program under the same department in 1997. Alumnies who completes this programme could implement an investigation special to cardiopulmonary rehabilitation area independently, comment with a broader and deeper perspective of scientific events and determine the necessary steps to achieve for accessing new methods and applications. He/she could move high-level skills acquired in education and research to his/her national and international clinical and academic works. PhD graduates of physiotherapy and rehabilitation graduates with "doctor of science" degree. Alumnies are research assistants, physiotherapists, people working in other areas in need of employees and people providing education for the community. He/she adopts the principle of lifelong learning. Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation doctor of science graduates are people who can develop programs that create and implement competent and effective programs by determining the need for the subject related to protective purposes in healthy individuals and can develop public health.

 To have an undergraduate degree diploma in area of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

To have a graduate degree diploma in area of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and other areas of Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

To complete the programme which is at least 8 half-years and contains 240 ECTS credits successfully or to receive equivalent education abroad for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation doctorate education.

To graduate from graduate programs of Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation or international equivalent degree abroad.

To educate a Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation doctor of science who may be a leader in research, education, teaching staff training, program development, policy formulation and management positions in the field of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, is well-informed, enlightened, sufficient and competent enough at the national and international scale.

Doctorate program of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation consists of totally 240 ECTS including compulsory and elective courses. The students can take courses from different programs that appropriates for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program in addition to their program.
