D.1. General Information about Program

Sports Physiotherapy master program started in 1997–1998 academic year at the Institute of Health Sciences.

Graduates who have completed this program can implement protective programs for injured or disabled athletes about physical function and all the evaluations related to the sport, can develop special treatment of sports physiotherapy methods by determining the most efficient way to apply and the athlete can return to sports activity.

They can do advanced research and application over clinical and academic studies in the field of sports physiotherapy with the help of the competency gained at a level of expertise. Sports Physiotheray Master's Degree graduates are awarded by the title of "Master of Science".

Having a bachelor's degree in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation

To have ALES (SAY / EA) score type and ALES and Foreign Language base score determined by the Health Sciences Institute Board and approved by the Hacettepe University Senate http://www.saglikbilimleri.hacettepe.edu.tr/en/menu/ales_foreign_language_scores-252

To meet the application requirements of Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations and Institute of Health Sciences.

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

To complete the programme which is at least 2 years and contains 120 ECTS credits successfully or to receive equivalent education abroad for graduating from Sports Physiotherapy graduate programme with thesis. 

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Bachelor's degree or international equivalent training in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation are valid.

D.7. Goals and Objectives

 To train sufficient and competent specialist sports physiotherapist at the national and international level who can follow the scientific and technological developments in the field of sports physiotherapy, can win skills and attitudes about education, research and application of knowledge and integrate their knowledge about clinical and scientific studies, have an information about research and scientific methods and interpret the results and can continue to learn throughout life.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Physiotherapists who could implement and advance clinical and academical studies in areas special to Sports Physiotherapy at the specialty level were brought up in this programme. Alumnies of Sports Physiotherapy Master of Science programme are skillful in building up and leading the society, encouraging participation to physical activity, increasing quality of life with treating functions in light of measurements special to Sports Physiotherapy.

D.14. Profile of the Programme

 Master program of Sports Physiotherapy consists of totally 120 ECTS including compulsory and elective courses. The students can take courses from different programs that appropriates for Sports Physiotherapy program in addition to their program.

D.16. Graduation Requirements

 Master of science programme includes 2 years at least which consist of minimum 2 semesters course term, minimum 2 semestres thesis study. Student must complete 30 ECTS in each term.

 Hacettepe University, Institute of the Health Sciences ` graduation conditions were fulfilling and theses must be successful in the exam.
