Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory assumes the title of the first school to initiate the Master's based on Performance for String Instruments Field
The program started to accept students on Violin and Cello art fields in the educational period 1990-1991, on Viola and Contrabass art fields in the educational period 1995-1996.
String Instruments Department keeps training artists and educators to national and international music and educational institutes by providing training with modern methods and techniques through the whole of sub disciplines of string instruments with Master's program

It is required to be a bachelor?s degree graduate for being accepted to this program. The candidates are accepted to this program through an audition which offers a specific repertoire given by the department.

In order to graduate from the String Instrument Department Post Graduate Program, the lowest credit required to be achieved is 24, and the total ECTS credit is 120

The objective of String Instruments Post graduate Program is to educate String instrument players who has the knowledge, skills and hardware to be assigned in art and musical educational institutions that take place within the national and international framework, who can render the historical development of his/her field in accordance with the period by absorbing it, who reached a unique aesthetical taste within his/her music appreciation, who keep tabs on the updated developments, who is able to reach to a level in order for contributing to the developments within the field through his/her studies.
Those graduated from our program have the employment opportunities as a player in orchestra or vocal in state and private orchestras (symphony, opera, academic orchestras and chamber orchestras of universities); as an Academician in State and Private Conservatories; as a group member in financed chamber music groups; all of which operates in land or in foreign countries.

In order to graduate, the student has to accomplish minimum 24 local credits and 120 ECTS credits at total. Besides defensing a Thesis, he/she has to give two recitals.
Measuring and evaluating methods performed for each course are defined on the “Educational Plan” which takes place on Information on Degree Programme, prepared by the instructor. The conditions stated on the related articles of Hacettepe University Higher Education Credo are valid concerning the exams and grades.

Apart from the conditions stated on the regulation, starting from the following semester, the students who achieved 24 credits;
1- perform a “Master's Final Recital” in front of jury with the program to be determined by their consultants (this recital is performed publicly)
2- has to prepare a “Master's THESIS IN ART - ART WORK STUDY REPORT ” determined by their thesis consultant, and defense it in front of the jury.

Apart from the conditions stated on the 46th article of Hacettepe University post Graduate Education, Exam Regulation, it is required to achieve at least 12 national credits and 120 ECTS credits in total.
