?Health Management in Disasters? Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree Program (with thesis) is one of the programs of Hacettepe University Institute of  Health Sciences since 2013. The Department of Public Health (Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine) was in charge of the program.
In October 2014, the health management in disasters master degree program was transfered to the Hacettepe Institute of Public Health.
In June 2016, the program was transferred back to the Institute of Health Sciences. The Department of Public Health (Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine) is currently in charge of the program.
?Health Management in Disasters? Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree Program provides courses in public health and disaster health management for the graduates of faculties and schools (4 years) related to health sciences in accordance with the aims of the program.
The international students can apply to this Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree program. After graduating from this Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree program, the candidates can apply for doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) programs.
.This Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree program lasts for 2 years (4 semesters). In the first two semesters, the student attends the must and elective courses of the program. In the second year, the student conducts a thesis study. In the second year, the student may also attend elective courses. The official language of the program is Turkish.

The graduates of faculties and schools (4 years) related to health sciences are accepted to this program. The students should meet the qualifications requested in the Hacettepe University's By-law of Post-graduate Training Education and Examination.

To meet the application requirements of Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations and Institute of Health Sciences.
In order to graduate from ?Health Management in Disasters? Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree Program (with thesis), the student should have a minimum of 120 ECTS / 21 national credits, and should successfully complete a thesis study.
During the course period, the student should successfully complete a minimum of 60 ECTS and 21 national credits (including a seminar course without national credits). The student, who successfully completes the must / obligatory courses and has a minimum academic average of 2.75, can prepare a proposal for thesis study at the end of the second semester.
After completing the thesis study, the student presents it to a jury. If the student is successful in knowledge, interpreting and synthesis issues related to his/her thesis topic; he/she graduates from the master of science degree program. The thesis study lasts two semesters and has a value of 60 ECTS in total.
The students are subjected to Hacettepe University By-law of Post-graduate Training Education and Examination.
 Based on the Hacettepe University's By-law of Post-graduate Training Education and Examination, the student may transfer himself/herself or his/her credits to ?Health Management in Disasters? Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree Program (with thesis).
The aim of this programme is to educate and train disaster health managers who will serve in every phase of a disaster; possess the universal qualities of a scientist; have knowledge in national and international perspectives; are enlightened and perfect.
The graduates of the program can find a job in the public and private sector.

This Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree program involves 4 semesters. In each of the first two semesters, there are courses providing at least 30 ECTS, and in the last two semesters there is the thesis study providing a total of 60 ECTS. The total ECTS of the program is at least 120 ECTS (21 national credits). In the program, 75,0% of the courses from the areas of Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Disaster Health Management are must, and 25,0% are elective.
The faculty of each course mentioned the assessment and grading methods in the “Course Information” sheet. For the examinations and grades, the corresponding articles of Hacettepe University By-law of Post-graduate Training Education and Examination are valid.
?In order to graduate from Health Management in Disasters Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree program (with thesis), the student should successfuly complete the must and elective courses of the program and have at least 21 national credits, besides he/she should conduct a thesis study on disaster related topics and successfuly defend it. With the thesis study, the student should have a minimum of 120 ECTS.
In order to graduate from the Master's Degree Program, also other conditions specified in the By-Law of Hacettepe University on Post-Graduate Studies and Examinations must be met.
