D.1. General Information about Program


The proposed "Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics Non-Thesis Master's Program" is a program developed to assess all health technologies and services and to respond to the increase in costs. Programs will be carried out by faculty members proficient in public health, economics, statistics, quantitative decision-making techniques, and clinical outcomes research. Program is designed focusing on economic, social and administrative problems and intends to help individuals related to issues on economics and outcomes research.

D.4. Provisions for Registration


1. Those having a university diploma in any field can apply for the program.

2. There is no minimum grade-point average (GPA) requirement.

3. There is no requirement for an ALES or Foreign Language Exam certificate. However, if the applicant submits a certificate, the following weighting schema will be used in evaluation (for those not submitting a certificate for ALES or Foreign Language, the score is considered to be zero).

Evaluation Criteria:

ALES Score: 10%

Foreign Language Score: 10%

GPA: 30%

Interview: 50%

4. International students' applications are accepted in line within “Hacettepe University Graduate Programme and Exam Regulation" in Official Gazette (29 November 2016, No:29900).

5. The provisions which are not covered, will be implemented in accordance with the relevant provisions of Hacettepe University's Regulations on Graduate Education and Examination.

Program is designed especially to complete the training of professionals interested in obtaining the necessary capabilities to take responsibility in hospitals, clinical laboratories, public and private health centers, public institutions related to management and financing of health services, private insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies and companies related with distribution. Program aims to educate graduates with the following qualifications, who:

  • Produces creative solutions to Health Economics and Health Financing problems
  • Implements various research methods and skills to problems related with the health system
  • Understands economics, health economics and health financing disciplines comprehensively and develops solutions appropriate to business and public policy
  • Knows how to implement economic evaluation techniques in health technology assessments
  • Knows how to apply various research processes and designs to health technologies researches
  • Knows basic statistical concepts and principles and how to apply variety of statistical processes to health technology assessment researches

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples


Students who are graduated from health economics and pharmacoeconomy distance non-thesis master programme can work different kinds of organizations and institutions as a manager, planner, decision maker and pharmacoeconomist. Students can take active managerial roles not only organization and institutions in health care system but also Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Ministry of Development and Turkish Statistical Institute.
