The goal of Chemistry Education Master's Degree Programme with thesis is to instil in students the ability to do research independently, to determine methods for analysing chemistry-related subjects in depth, obtaining new results and making interpretations accordingly.
The programme will accept the graduates of preferably Mathematics and Physical Sciences Education and Chemistry Education Departments of Education Faculties, graduates of Chemistry Departments of the Faculties of Science and the graduates of Chemical Engineering Department of Engineering Faculties. On the other hand, the graduates of the Chemistry Departments of the faculties of Sciences and the graduates of the Chemical Engineering Departments of Engineering Faculties will be exposed to a scientific preparation programme. The courses that the students who have passed the entrance examination for the programme are to take will be determined by the decisions made by the board of science.
Chemistry Education Master's Degree Programme with thesis is composed of at least seven courses, a compulsory seminar, a course on research methods and publication ethics- which should have at least 21 credits- and a thesis study. Of the courses Seminar and thesis study do not have credits and students are assessed as pass or fail. The Master's Degree programme with thesis is composed of at least 120 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits in total containing nine courses at least including courses on seminar and publication ethics with no fewer than 60 ECTS credits each semester.

The students wishing to join the programme are expected to have foreign language skills at the level adequate to follow and comprehend international literature even though the medium of instruction is Turkish.

Seminar and thesis study do not have credits and students are assessed as pass or fail. The programme with thesis is composed of at least 120 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits in total containing nine courses at least including courses on seminar and publication ethics with no fewer than 60 ECTS credits each semester.
Post-graduate courses the students took in the last five years including the ones taken as private students in a Master's Degree programme in Turkey and abroad before registering in the institute can be transferred to the programme to which they are registered on the basis of the advisor's view, with the recommendation of the board of the department and decision of the board of directors of the institute. However, the amount exceeding two thirds of the total credits in the programme students have been registered is not taken into consideration in transferring the credits of courses taken as private students.
The goal of Chemistry Education Master's Degree Programme with thesis is to instil in students the ability to do research independently, to determine methods for analysing chemistry-related subjects in depth, obtaining new results and making interpretations accordingly. ıts goal also includes raising individuals to contribute to universal science in terms of chemistry education in national and international scale and also to meet the academic staff needs of the newly opened and developing universities.
The programme aims to raise individuals who continue academic studies and to be trained as individuals meeting the academic staff needs felt in the field.
Chemistry Education Master's Degree Programme with thesis is composed of at least seven courses, a compulsory seminar, a course on research methods and publication ethics- which should have at least 21 credits- and a thesis study. Of the courses Seminar and thesis study do not have credits and students are assessed as pass or fail. The post-graduate programme with thesis is composed of at least 120 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits in total containing nine courses at least including courses on seminar and publication ethics with no fewer than 60 ECTS credits each semester. All courses are elective courses except for compulsory seminer courses. Students can take these courses from inside and outside the university in accordance with their interest and by taking opinion of their consultant. Examinations, assessment and marking students' work are performed as pointed out in the post-graduate educational-instructional and examination Regulation of Hacettepe University Educational Sciences Institute.
Students passing the compulsory courses (with at least 60 ECTS) and attaining academic average of 2.75 at the minimum prepare a thesis/art proposal following the end of the second semester. Students passing their thesis defence graduate from the post-graduate programme.
