Primary education department was founded in 1991- 1992 academic year in order to train classroom teachers. However throughout the renewal of the education faculties in Turkey, elementary education department was founded and primary education has been continued under the structure of the Elementary Education. This Master?s Program will be launched in 2016- 2017 academic year.Â
This MA program?s provisions for registration can be listed as follows:Â
If the number of the applicants exceeds the program limits, university graduation point?s average will be used to determine the accepted applicants.Â
Formal practical provisions of Hacettepe University Educational Science Institutes are applied in this program.Â
Attenders of the Program have to complete the sum of at least 30-credit lesson and semester project, according to European Credit System at least 90 ECTS credit lesson and semester project. The semester Project lesson takes on in the last semester. The student enrols the Semester Project Lesson at the semester of taken on semester Project and he/she presents his/her written Project report at the end of semester. In as much as the student graduates from the program he/she has to be successful semester Project lesson and 2.50 point academic average point.Â
Throughout the Turkish Higher Education Foundations pre-learning of formal education processes is being recognized on vertical, horizontal and transitional ways in the university with in the scope of by-laws, which were determined by the Higher Education Council. In case of elasticize the context of Higher Education Council, the limited number of lesson?s credits can be transferred or one of the students may continue her /his education in a different department. Because of the recognition of non- formal education at Higher Education at Turkey has still been in an early phase, the learning experiences which are out of the formal education system are currently impossible to be recognized by Higher Education Council.Â
The aim of the Hacettepe University Primary Education department?s distance education graduate program without thesis is to provide students with the primary education?s theoretical base in the light of modern education theories and applications, to put them into practise efficiently in the different types of primary schools ( like village, town, government, special schools etc...).
The graduates of the primary education department?s graduate program will be employed as the experts of the field to do research regarding learning processes, designs and develops pedagogical materials in educational settings.Â
The duration of the Hacettepe University Primary Education department?s distance education graduate program without thesis is a three semesters. While 47% of the courses in the program is obligator, 53% of the courses in the program were labeled as elective courses.Â
All of the regulations rgarding assessment and grading were tabulated and presented within the ?evaluation system chart placed in this document. Assessment and grading procedures of the program have to be in line with Hacettepe University?s related official regulations.Â
