Department of Turkish Sign Language and Practices is planned for the purpose of providing the development of research on Turkish Sign Language, which is the communication tool of the hearing impaired in Turkey; to bring up new research areas and issues by directing the Turkologists, linguists, translators, language educators and communication scientists who are interested in the subject; for the purpose of educating the users of Turkish Sign Language in a way that will enable the opening of new areas of application in business life. |
Anyone with a bachelor's degree from any field can apply to the program. There is no minimum academic achievement requirement for application.
ALES and Foreign Language conditions are not required. However, if the candidates with ALES and Foreign Language scores document these scores, the following weights are used in the evaluation of the Entrance Exam and the score of those who do not certify ALES and Foreign Language score is considered as zero.

The provisions not listed above shall be applied in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Hacettepe University Graduate Education, Training and Examination Regulation.
Turkish Sign Language Studies and Applications Second Cycle Non-Thesis Program Students are required to complete 3 courses (6 ECTS of each) and 7 optional electives (8 ECTS of each) with the supervision of the Department Head and approval of course advisors. In addition, it is required to successfully complete the course load of at least 74 credits (ECTS) in addition to the Completion of 16 ECTS credits for term project. The students can take the courses in the specified curriculum or take the credits from the undergraduate and graduate courses in the related departments of the university or other universities if they are deemed necessary by their advisors. Some of the courses to be taken by the MA students can be selected from the Undergraduate courses provided that they have not been taken them during the undergraduate education.
Candidates who are accepted to the program are subject to the provisions of the Hacettepe University Graduate Education Regulations and Regulations. Not being less than 90 ECTS credits, If the students complete the course (74 ECTS credits) and the completion project requirements (16 ECTS credits), they are given the Turkish Sign Language Studies and Practices Evening Education Non-Thesis Master's Program.
Recognition of previous learning in HU Health Communication Thesis Master's Program is based on the rules determined by the Institute of Social Sciences and provides the course equivalence of Hacettepe University or any other higher education institution from another registered postgraduate program and recognition of the credits completed during the transition between programs.

Department of Turkish Sign Language Studies and Practices, is planned fort he purposes of; developing research on Turkish Sign Language, which is the communication tool of the hearing impaired in our country; to bring up new research areas and issues of Turkologists, linguists and translators who are interested in the subject; training of Turkish Sign Language users in a way that allows the opening of new areas of application in business life.
The main objective of this program, which is planned to be opened, can be summarized as follows in a few articles.
Students who graduate from the program may work as Turkish Sign Language Instructor, Turkish Sign Language Translator in various public and private sector institutions and organizations such as education, health, law, banking, etc.
Students who are accepted to the H.U. Institute of Social Sciences, Turkish Sign Language Studies and Practices Non-thesis Evening Education Program must successfully complete TID Communication Skills 1, Methods and Ethics in Sign Language Studies, Seminar courses and Term Project in TID Studies and Practices. Courses apart from these are elective.
The assessment and evaluation methods for each course are defined in the Course Plan which is prepared by the related instructor/instructors and included in the information package. The related articles of the Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations are applied for exams and course success grades.
