Course objectiveThe aim of this course is to introduce encyclopedic texts in old Turkish literature, to teach the historical development of encyclopedic works; to gain the necessary knowledge about the encyclopedic texts through reading-examining studies on the texts representing the genre. 
Learning outcomes
  1. At the end of this course, the student; -Comprehend the relationship between encyclopedic works and literature,
  2. -Learn the necessary information about the encyclopedic texts in the old Turkish literature and academic studies on this subject.
  3. -Explain the historical development of encyclopedic works in old Turkish literature by examining the representative texts of the genre.
  4. -Gains knowledge and experience that a text can be read both as a literary and an encyclopedic work.
Course ContentTo give information about the encyclopedic works in the old Turkish literature and studies related to the subject, to teach the historical development of the encyclopedic works, to make reading and examination studies on the representative texts of the genre.
