Course objectiveWhile writing basically serves a functional purpose, it is also closely related to the stylistic developments of different branches of art. The importance of calligraphy in making writing an art object is an undeniable fact. The creation of artistic writing with aesthetic concerns is discussed within the scope of the aim of this course. Researching and experiencing the art of calligraphy, which is one of the basic formations of writing, and developing experimental production techniques, is the main problem of the course. 
Learning outcomes
  1. 1. Learns about calligraphy and learns to learn writing experience with the right resources. 2. Discovers original techniques with calligraphy-based experimental materials.
  2. 3. Creates subject-based calligraphic designs and compositions. 4. Recognizes, applies and produces the technique and discipline of calligraphy.
  3. 5. Recognizes the basic working areas of calligraphy. 6. Explores calligraphy artists and original interpretations/attitudes.
  4. 7. Learns the usage areas of calligraphy. 8. Gains experience in creating visuals with text.
  5. 9. Establishes the relationship between calligraphy and graphic design. 10. Experiences the art of calligraphy, develops it and uses it in its designs by producing experimental works.
Course ContentThe content of the course, the development process of the art of calligraphy from the beginning to the present, and the relationship between modern calligraphy and graphic design are evaluated within the scope of the project. Evaluation of calligraphy as an art beyond writing, its use with less communication task. In this situation, works with a high aesthetic image were applied, away from the attention of calligraphy to read text. An office writing skill and operability requirements calligraphy experience has an important place in many cultures. Calligraphy studies that show and transform variables according to cultures are among the problems covered in the course. Within the scope of the projects developed, technical examinations are made, it is ensured that they are handled in the most correct ways and in the right way, and they are carried out by considering the art of calligraphy.
