Course objectiveThe aim of this course is to provide a deeper understanding and discussion of the modernization, change and transformation movements that took place from the Ottoman Empire to the Early Republican era. 
Learning outcomes
  1. Will be able to more easily explain the changes in the Ottoman Empire through the capitalist transformation.
  2. Will be able to analyze the place of the newly established Turkey in the global context after the dissolution of the Empire.
Course ContentThe changes and transformations in the Ottoman Empire were the reflections of the capitalist transformation that took place in the world. Through the perspective of capitalist transformation, the social, political and economic transformations of the Ottoman Empire will be discussed starting from the 16th century to the Early Republican era.
