Course objective The aim of this course is to enable students to evaluate the effects of language policies on Turkish curriculum. It is expected that the students will understand how Turkish education and teaching is shaped in line with the language policies.  
Learning outcomes
  1. Evaluates the relationship between ideology and language policy.
  2. Recognizes and evaluates the language policies of Atatürk period.
  3. Identifies language policies in development plans and government programs.
  4. Recognizes the legal basis of Turkish education.
  5. Examines and compares Turkish curriculum teaching programs in the framework of language policies.
Course Content
The ideological foundations of language policies; Language policy of Atatürk period, language policies after Atatürk, language policies in development plans, language policies in government programs; Legal basis of Turkish education; Turkish course teaching programs in historical process; reflection of language policies in Turkish curriculum.
