Course objectiveThis course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the research methods and techniques used in the field of translation studies and to help them develop skills necessary for implementing research in the field. Initially, the course will provide students with basic concepts used in the research, such as reliability and validity, ethic and variables, as well as will introduce different kinds of research design and methods, including conceptual vs. empirical, naturalistic vs. experimental, qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods. Students will be presented with possible areas of research in Translation Studies with emphasis on methods and techniques used depending on the focus of the research: product-oriented, process-oriented, participants-oriented and context-oriented. The course will also walk students through the basics of collecting, analysing and interpreting data. Finally, students will learn how to produce a research article and MA thesis in acc
