Course objectiveThe aim of this course is to acquaint the students with different areas of health research with the necessary knowledge in the health communication area through the study of theories of health communication and the contemporary discussions in the area focusing mainly on interpersonal communication, risk communication and crisis communication in the health context 
Learning outcomes
  1. By the end of the course, the students will: -have idea about health communication theories,
  2. -develop an understanding about the importance of interpersonal communication
  3. -have a knowledge of health media,
  4. -develop awareness about the importance of risk communication and crisis communication in health contexts
Course ContentIn the scope of this course, in addition to health communication theories, health media, health promotion and the health campaigns that are run on the internet will be examined as specific cases.

1. Will gain knowledge about the basic concepts of linguistics and linguistic features of sign languages.     
2. Will survey the literature on interdisciplinary areas pertaining to sign linguistics and understand the interaction of sign linguistics with fields such as sociology, translation sciences and communication sciences.   X 
3. Have knowledge about the historical development of sign languages and Turkish Sign Language.      
4. Will evaluate phenomena such as language contact, language genesis, creole, bilingualism within the context of sign languages.
