Course objectiveThe aim of the course is to acquaint the students with various language and speech disorders and to provide a discussion of deafness in association with language and speech disorders.  
Learning outcomes
  1. By the end of the course, the students wll be able to: - know about the different opininons and perspectives in defining language and speech disorders
  2. - define and explain various kinds of language and speech disorders.
  3. - be aware of the crucial distinction between deafness (hearing impairment) and Deafness
  4. - consider Deafness as a cultural and linguistic variable .
Course ContentThe course covers discussions on the consideration of hearing impairment and Deafness in the context of language and speech disorders and gives an emphasis on the understanding of Deafness as a cultural and linguistic variable, rather than being a physiological impariment.
