Course objectiveTo familiarize students with `metalinuistic skills / performance? and make them understand the relationship between metalinguistic skills & language disorders and metalinguistic awareness & academic performance. This class will guide students to correctly identify individual metalinguistic needs and problems and make them plan required interventions for the student or adult. 
Learning outcomes
  1. To understand the terms "metalinguistic skills" and "Metalinguistic awareness".
  2. To understand the relationship between metalinguistic awareness & cognitive development and metalinguistic awareness & reading acquisition.
  3. To be able to determine the metalinguistic profile, which includes metalinguistic skills, including metapragmatic skills (making inferences, conversation) and metasemantic skills (figurative meaning, distinguishing words with more than one meaning).
