Course objectiveExamining in-depth anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the basal ganglia, cerebellum and their connections and to gain advanced theoretical and practical competence about the clinical features, assessment and physiotherapy rehabilitation approaches of diseases related these systems. Planning research high level of evidence , conducting and interpreting the results 
Learning outcomes
  1. Analyze in detail neuroanatomical and neurophysiological features of the basal ganglia and the cerebellum.
  2. Describe problems caused by diseases take place within the scope of movement disorders and analyze them
  3. Develop the level of theoretical and clinical proficiency to plan and applicate physical therapy programs in these diseases
  4. Follow the actual literature of these disease physical therapy and rehabilitation
  5. Plan research high level of evidence
  6. Conduct the research independently by considering ethical values.
Course ContentMovement diseases which appear frequently and occur due to degenerative process of basal ganglia, cerebellum, their connections: Parkinson's disease, multiple system atrophy, spinocerebellar ataxia
Common clinical features of these diseases such as tonus disorders, ataxia, gait disorders and sensory influences
Selecting evaluation methods the appropriate to the specifications of the pathology and planning accordance with the findings, advanced, individual physiotherapy rehabilitation programs
Researching and reporting about the clinical use of the assessment methods and treatment approaches
