Course objectiveThe aim of the course is to enable the students to learn features, ethics, essentials of application and researches of a variety of interpreting fields. 
Learning outcomes
  1. At the end of this course, students will be able to 1. be able to describe the working conditions of instant translation in a conference or meeting environment 2. identify vocabulary, terminology and content specific to different subject areas, state their equivalents in the other language and culture, and use them in translation; 3. apply memory strategies and analytical listening skills necessary for effective use of mental processing capacity; and 4. apply translation strategies taking into account different types of discourse and different audiences, using body language, tone and volume effectively and appropriately; 5. be able to translate speech into the target language simultaneously with and without the use of visual material or written text.
Course ContentThis course encompasses theoretical information such as interpreting studies as well as working conditions, techniques and strategies of simultaneous interpreting
- Cognitive processing capacity enhancement and memory techniques
- Anticipation, contextualizing, deverbalising
- Voice management
- Vocabulary, terminology, textual content analysis on various topical issues/speeches
-booth manner and working in cooperation with the booth partner
-Simultaneous interpreting practices (B-A, A-B)
