Course objectiveStudents who take this course will learn the basic features of new Latin American constitutionalism in comparison to the historical US-American fundamentals of modern constitutionalism. 
Learning outcomes
  1. At the end of the course, the students will have a theoretical and practical understanding of; Fundamental concepts of modern constitutionalism
  2. Fundamental concepts of liberal, libertarian and new socialist constitutionalism with a particular attention to the US-American origins and to the rise of new socialist constitutionalism in selected Latin American Constitutions and constitutional systems.
  3. Liberal and socialist Latin American presidentialism New generations of rights Democratic Conventions in Latin America Direct and semi-direct democracy in Latin America
