Course objectiveThe aim of this course is to teach basic concepts and principals of constitutional law in the Turkish and comparative context. 
Learning outcomes
  1. At the end of this course, the student will learn about the information sources of Constitutional law, the term and concept of constitution, modern constitutionalism movements in a comparative historical framework, state theories, elements of the state, state forms (republic-monarchy; unitary state-compound state), constituent power, separation of powers theory, government. systems (parliamentary government, presidential regime, parliamentary regime),
  2. Gains knowledge about democracy theory, types of democracy (direct democracy, semi-direct democracy, representative democracy), election systems, election principles, fundamental rights and freedoms and constitutional jurisdiction issues, and acquires the skills to apply their knowledge to concrete, constitutional legal questions.
