Course objectiveThe aim of this course is to teach the history of the period of Seljuks of Turkey and Principalities in a holistic approach. 
Learning outcomes
  1. By the end of this course the student, describes the political developments from the foundation of the Seljuks of Turkey to the period of the Principalities,
  2. analyses the struggles of the principalities among themselves and against the Byzantine empire,
  3. explains political, administrative, social, economic, institutional and cultural structures of the principalities, and
  4. evaluates the changes caused by the Mongol domination,
  5. comprehends the political and cultural atmosphere of Anatolia during the Beylik period.
