Course objectiveTo teach how to decipher Ottoman manuscripts and documents and to use them in historical research

  1. By the end of this course the student, identifies the general characteristics of Ottoman scripts
  2. recognizes features of the rik?a script
  3. reads and deciphers texts written in rik?a script
  4. reads Ottoman archival documents at elementary level
  5. deciphers Ottoman manuscripts at elementary level
