Course objectiveThe aim of this course titled `Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Research Techniques amd Laboratory Methods' is to present theoretical- practical knowledge and skills about the basic research techniques, laboratory methods, scientific reserach and ethical principles and good laboratory practices in the field of pharmaceutical biotechnology. 
Learning outcomes
  1. Acquires knowledge about the scientific and ethical principles in the field of pharmaceutical biotechnology and applies them.
  2. Describes safe working principles and related regulations in pharmaceutical biotechnology laboratory.
  3. Explains operating principles of basic laboratory equipments and instruments in the pharmaceutical biotechnology laboratory and operates the devices.
  4. Knows working rules with biological materials, toxic and dangerous agents and implement waste disposal principles, and protects herself, working team and environment.
  5. Plans and performs laboratory experiments, and evaluates the data using statistical analysis, prepares scientific report and make presentation.
Course ContentResearch techniques in pharmaceutical biotechnology, access to information, information technologies, databases, literature search, knowledge management, pharmaceutical biotechnology laboratory methods, safe working principles,biosafety, good laboratory practice,pharmaceutical biotechnology laboratory equipments (autoclaves, centrifuges, ultracentrifugation, electrophoresis devices, incubators, spectrophotometers, ELISA, imaging, and other) and applications, protein analysis, blotting, DNA analysis, pDNA enzyme analysis, purification and quantitation, the particle size analysis and microscopic analysis, anlysis in pharmacopoeias
