Course objectiveTo make learners comprehend historical events and changes in languages including the development of Turkish language in history from Karakhanid Turkish to nineteenth century, To introduce basic periods, works, and linguistic features of Turkish language, To teach historical periods of Turkish language namely as Karakhanid, Khorezm, Kipczak, Chagatay, Early Anatolia and Ottoman, with its basic features and historical relationship among them. 
Learning outcomes
  1. Know the features of the historical periods of Turkish language namely listed as Karakhanid, Khorezm, Kipczak, Chagatay, Early Anatolia and Ottoman,
  2. Make connections on the historical period of Turkish language from Middle Turkish to the nineteenth century,
  3. Comment on historical events during this period, and
  4. Comment on the changes in a language in the light of interaction among different cultures.
