Course objectiveTo show the expression types of intellectual, religious, behavioral, and ethical values of Turkish culture, To teach the basic concepts of faith indicators and rituals which are one of the sources in history of culture studies, to gain an analytical perspective with assessment methods related to the topic, Help comprehend the relation between modernization and culture change, Help comprehend the importance of national culture in globalization process. 
Learning outcomes
  1. Have information about verbal sources of Turkish culture,
  2. Can choose verbal data in written sources and can make analytical assessment related to them
  3. Comprehend how the cultural interaction and change shape social perception,
  4. Comprehend the transitivity between verbal and written culture and
  5. Can explain how the societies explain their immaterial need and satisfy it.
Course ContentThe specification of verbal and written sources that shape immaterial area in Turkish culture and carry trans generation,
The explanation of immaterial universe with the investigation of sample texts chosen from verbal and written sources,
The importance immaterial area in the concept of cultural identity,
The functions of thought, attitude and behavior related to immaterial area in cultural continuation,
The reconstruction of immaterial area after cultural changes and the usage of new sources,
The effect of modernization on cultural change.
