Course objectiveGetting students to prepare content and quantitative analysis based on the quality of concrete or non-concrete data, Teaching how to plan a research design in terms of introduction, body, analysis and results based on the structure of each topic. Demonstrating the necessities of using a holistic approach in information production. Getting students to keep a balance between general and specific details when adopting an interdisciplinary approach. Comparing research findings with the finding and methods of other fields. Getting students to test scientific knowledge production by using a comparative method based on historical and cultural resources. 
Learning outcomes
  1. Produce new information that is based on history, language, culture and society by comparing concrete and non-concrete data and coming up with new questions.
  2. Make consistent predictions for the future based on the new holistic information he/she produced.
  3. Pay attention to archaeological, geographic, and climatic data based on the quality of the information produced.
  4. Question the available knowledge and documents through holistic approaches.
  5. Make a consistent analysis of the similarities and differences among data that is corpus-based.
  6. Presents footnotes and references in a consistent, valid and correct way.
Course ContentIntroducing chronological, descriptive and analytic methods by going over sample studies from the field of Turkish studies and the points that need to be considered in this process,
Avoiding repetition and demonstrating how the important, less important and more important information in the explanatory additional information changes depending on the focus area.
The danger of anachronism when interpreting and demonstrating this by means of studies.
Demonstrating incorrect reading, comprehension, and interpretation when producing knowledge through examples.
Introducing the ways of categorizing and using resources in footnotes and reference sections through examples.
Trying the production of innovative scientific knowledge: preparing seminar.
