Course objectiveThe aim of the course is to provide information to students about the effects of gender roles and women's health; women's life stages according to the major health problems, reproductive health, factors affecting fertility; unwanted pregnancies and abortions; via discussing the topics above with gender perspectives and make students develop suggestions contributing to the activities in social and cultural context of empowerment of women according to the international and national efforts. 
Learning outcomes
  1. At the end of this course, student will be able to: 1. Explain the effects of gender roles and its effect on women's health
  2. 2. Explain the major health problems of women's according to life stages and bring into connection with gender
  3. 3. Compare the level of women's health in the world and in Turkey
  4. 4. Analyze the population policies with the gender point of view
  5. 5. Discuss the factors affecting fertility; unwanted pregnancy and abortions and their importance on women's health
  6. 6. Analyze the women's work and health problems with the gender perspective
  7. 7. Develop suggestions contributing to the activities in social and cultural context of empowerment of women and women's health

5. Factors affecting fertility; unwanted pregnancies and induced abortions

7. Safe Motherhood
8. Adolescents' health (early marriages and adolescent's pregnancies)
9. Women's health at menopause and post menopausal period
10. Women's work and health
11. Social and cultural context of empowerment of women
