Course objectiveThe aim of this course is to conduct micro and macro linguistic studies on the examples of different world languages. 
Learning outcomes
  1. At the end of the semester the students will be able to;
  2. apply micro and macro analysis methods on the examples of different world languages,
  3. comment on the scientific studies made in the field,
  4. discuss the findings in the light of linguistic theories.
Course ContentThe historical development and functions of field research; basic differences between old and new field studies; field study methods and constraints; an interdisciplinarian approach to field linguistics; ways of collecting natural data; project work: how to design, how to carry it out and how to gain results. Interpretation of the findings in the light of relevant theories.
