Course objectiveTo inform students about socio-cultural structures of Turkish communities living in different geographies as politically and sociologically minorities, their cultural processes ended with different culture contacts and demographical, political and socio-cultural problems they have. 
Learning outcomes
  1. At the end of this course, students
  2. -knows geographies that Turkish communities and publics live, their movements and the phases that this process has,
  3. -knows the societies and cultures which Turkish people interact with in history,
  4. -knows and explains the socio-cultural conditions of Turkish communities who are sociologically or politically minorities in the World, and
  5. -knows and explains their interaction levels with society or culture in which Turkish communities who are sociologically or politically minorities, live and their status within the context of minority-majority relations.
Course Content-The meanings of minority-majority concepts in terms of sociology and politics
-Migration in Turkish history
-The cultures that Turkish people interact in history and the directions of interactive processes
-The geographies in which Turkish communities has lived as minorities and the processes of being minority
-The reasons of differentiation and changes that happened in Turkish communities in history
-The policies of dominant society or state for Turkish minorities
-Cultural, political and economic status of Turkish communities in the societies they live as minority.
-Main problems that Turkish people encounter as minorities.
