Course objectiveTo teach the research design and methods related to histology and embryology is aimed. Litterature review, project writing and management, scientific presentation techniques, manuscript and PhD thesis writing strategies will be covered. The ethical considerations, data archiving and the biosafety issues will be also comperatively discussed by using interactive probleme solving techniques
Learning outcomes
  1. 1. Ability to make an effective literatüre search by using virtual databases and the library sources.
  2. 2. Ability of designing a scientific research; wrtiting an original project by using objective principles of qualitative and quantitative methods.
  3. 3. Ability to plan and manage a research project following medical laws and ethical issues.
  4. 4. Having a basic knowledge about the biosafety and waste management related to the research project.
  5. 5. Having objective skills for reviewing and archiving research project outputs
  6. 6. Having basic knowledge about PhD thesis writing principles
  7. 7. Ability to report the results of a research project having skills for writing a scientific manuscript with them
  8. 8. Having presentation skills to make scientific presentation in a national or international meeting in order to share scientific knowledge.
Course ContentThe Histology and Embryology will be determined as a research era during this course. The selection of research design, literatüre search by using the library and virtual databases, review of the literatüre, use of theory, and the writing strategies will be given with ethical considerations. The resach design will be introduced by teaching the purpose statement, research questions and hypotheses. The qualitative research procedures, quantitative methods , and also the mixed research procedures will be discussed. How to design, write and manage a research project will be explained by giving information about biosafety principles, medical lows and the ethical considerations. The proper review and storage of the project outputs will be discussed. Scientific presentaion techniques, the PhD thesis and scientific manuscript writing strategies will be comperatively discussed.
