Course objectiveStudent received this course gains knowledge of how to reach scientific and current knowledge, to follow literature, to assess the accuracy, validity and reliability of the knowledge, and to apply the knowledge related to emergency nursing, the main concepts and principles used in nursing care by using scientific and current knowledge to assess the signs and symptoms occur in diseases in cell level; gains skills and competences to plan and give comprehensive emergency care with holistic and systematic approach, to evaluate and report the effects of given nursing care; to plan and carry out a scientific study, and to report the results by analyzing them; to publish at least one scientific article related to emergency nursing in national or international journal with reviewer; to contribute for scientific and ethical problem solving encounter in problems related to emergency nursing and to promote developments of these worths. 
Learning outcomes
  1. Explains how to reach scientific and current knowledge, to follow literature, to assess the accuracy, validity and reliability of the knowledge, and to apply the knowledge related to emergency nursing.
  2. Explains the main concepts and principles used in emergency care by using scientific and current knowledge to assess the signs and symptoms occur in diseases in cell level.
  3. Plans and gives comprehensive emergency care to emergency patient with holistic and systematic approach by using hypothetic, evidence-based and practical knowledge in expert level, evaluates and reports the effects of given nursing care.
  4. Plans and carries out scientific studies in emergency nursing field, and reports the results by analyzing them.
  5. Publishes at least one scientific article related to emergency nursing in national or international journal with reviewer.
  6. Contributes for scientific and ethical problem solving encounter in problems related to emergency nursing and promotes developments of these worths.
Course ContentThe course includes topics as history of emergency nursing, characteristics of emergency care enviorenment and related regulations, definition, importance and basic principles of emergency aid, the basic principles of emergency patient transport, emergency diagnosis and triage , physiological reactions to trauma, basic life support, advanced life support, multiple traumas, head- neck- face traumas, chest - abdomen- extremity traumas, burns, exposure of heat and cold, poisoning, medical emergencies, case studies and clinical practices.
