Course objectiveTo make learners comprehend historical events and changes in languages including the development of Turkish language in history from the very beginning to Karakhanid Turkish period, To introduce basic periods, works and linguistic features of Turkish language, To teach historical periods of Turkish language namely as Gokturk and Uigur, with its basic features and historical relationship between them. 
Learning outcomes
  1. At the end of the course, students know the features of historical periods of Turkish language namely Gokturk and Uigur periods,
  2. make historical connections among the periods from Turkish language to Middle Turkish,
  3. comment on historical events during this period,
  4. comment on the changes in a language in the light of interaction among different cultures.
