Course objective | The aim of this course is to reveal the phases of Turkish democratisation process in a historical perspective and to investigate the development of Turkish democracy by focusing on the political and civil society. | |||||

Course Content | Two topics constitute the content of this course. The first topics is related to the relationship between democracy and the political society. In this context, the contributions of the state to the democratisation process in Turkey and the different forms of these contributions take at different phases of this process will be analysed. The second topics is related to the relationship between democracy and civil society. In this context, the formation of democratic culture, state-individual and individual-society relationships will be explained. | |||||
