Course objectiveThe main objective of this course is to provide students with some ability to interpret international relations of the Asian-Pacific region with an interdisciplinary approach.  
Learning outcomes
  1. At the end of the course the successful student will be able to describe the main policies of the great powers in the Asian- Pacific region in the context of global and regional balances of power, to analyze main international problems in the region during and after the Cold War, and to interpret the main foreign policies of major regional powers.
Course ContentThe course introduces students to Asian-Pacific politics since the beginning of the 19th century up to the present days. Geographically the course covers the Northeast and Southeast Asia, as well as Russia, the US and Australia.
