Course objectiveTo make the students know the recent approaches to improvement of health care quality, external evaluation and accreditation systems. 
Learning outcomes
  1. At the end of this course, students are expected to understand recent approaches to quality management in health care, strengths and weaknesses of these approaches; to be able to apply advanced quality improvement techniques; to have knowledge about current topics in quality improvement and accreditation.
Course ContentMeasurement of health services quality (process and outcome measures), evaluation of costs, processes and outcomes together, utilization management, standards, guidelines, critical path ways, performance indicators, patient safety and medical errors, advanced methods used in quality management, implementing quality as the core organizational strategy, change management, organizational learning, medical malpractice, accreditation, quality awards, current topics in quality improvement.
