Course objectiveThe aim of the course is to question social media, media activism and media literacy by considering critical media literacy and visual literacy based on critical thinking and critical literacy.  
Learning outcomes
  1. By the end of the course the students will be able to: -make connections among critical thinking, literacy and critical media literacy.
  2. - interpret the contribution of critical thinking to overall media literacy.
  3. -argue media literacy education in and out of Turkey
  4. -produce alternative media education curriculum
  5. -develop alternative media education curricula and new creative methodologies
Course ContentIn this course, critical thinking and its relation to critical media literacy will be examined and apart from theoretical and methodological debates the students will be active participants of critical reading and content production practices.
