Course objectiveHistory of Turkish lexicography from past to present, stages of Turkish lexicography; the methods used in lexicographical approaches; spelling the words, types, pronunciations, basic and semantic meanings, to examine, explain, evaluate the examples, to understand the display of borrowings in Türkçe Sözlük (TDK Turkish Dictionary). 
Learning outcomes
  1. At the end of the course the students will be able to ; -Understand the beginning, development and present periods of Turkish lexicography.
  2. -Know the dictionaries of the historical periods of Turkish, will have information about the principles of preparing a dictionary.
  3. -Evaluate the Turkish Dictionary studies and publications from a scientific point of view.
