Course objectiveTo investigate the relation of people with the nature in the Ottoman lands.  
Learning outcomes
  1. By the end of the course student understands how the people made a living in the Ottoman geography
  2. investigates the Ottoman studies on environment history, historical ecology, climate history.
  3. investigates the history of everyday life.
  4. acquires the comperative history perspective.
  5. learns how to use the historical sources to investigate the relationship between the geography and human beings.
Course ContentA variety of sources, including literary, historical, and socio-anthropological will be read. Readings for each class will attempt to examine the primary sources and the ways they are used in various studies, to investigate how people made a living in the Ottoman lands.
