Course objectiveWith regard to social frame's significance, Visual sociology is the sociology of daily life. Implementing studies given in social sciences whose raw material is vision, visual sociology comprises everything ranging from units constructing cultures to visual materials. Indeed, it is possible to bring a decoding process that human beings are exposed to in their daily life. Its main area of interest are environment and relationship of human beings with their presented circle. In order to clarify this relationship, it utilizes visual materials, social perspectives adopted by human beings and methods.

  4. Analysis visual texts from social perspective
Course ContentBasic concepts and social contexts of visual socioloy, the evolution and methodology of visual sociology, and be able to evaluate socio-cultural themes behind visual texts and make deductions with regard to daily life. Reading and discussing visual texts.
