Course objectiveThe aim of this course is to enable the students to gain the knowledge, skills and competence required to analyse the peculiarities of different classes and gender in England, observe the interaction of classes and gender in a selection of literary works, interpret these interactions and evaluate them with reference to their socio-cultural and political background and develop a comparative and critical viewpoint regarding these concepts.

Course ContentIn this course, after an introduction to the definitions of class and gender, the representations of class and gender in representative texts are analysed and discussed.
